Travel Back in Time When You Dine at the T-REX Cafe

T-REX Cafe at Disney Springs

If you or someone in your crew loves dinosaurs, then T-REX Cafe is a great spot to dine. It’s an immersive dining experience with vibrant colors throughout, roaring sounds from prehistoric times, life-size animatronic dinosaurs and a kid’s discovery zone. If you’re dining with little ones in your group, you have to checkout the gift shop at the front of the restaurant with dinosaur plush toys, jewelry, apparel, and even a Build-A-Dino By Build-A-Bear Workshop.

For those of you who are using the Disney Dining Plan, T-REX Cafe is a 1-credit restaurant and also offers a 10% discount for Annual Passholders.

If you’re not coming to T-Rex for the atmosphere and the dinosaurs, consider asking to be seated outside the cave. If you’re sitting in any of the other areas, almost everything you eat or drink will become the exact same color (bright blue or warm red) of the theme for the area because of the drastic lighting in each section of the restaurant. Each room brings something different and engaging to the table. The Ice Age room looked amazing, but it would have been a bit too loud for our 9-month old. There’s also a meteor shower in one of the dining rooms every 20-ish minutes that is pretty loud and features darkness mixed with bright flashes of light. It may be a little much for some, but we didn’t mind it. I think if you’re going to this restaurant, you have to have an open mind regarding noise and ambiance. It’s not going to be a quiet candlelit dining experience — it’s more suitable for kids, and even larger families.

T-REX features American fare sure to indulge herbivores, omnivores and carnivores alike. The menu caters to everyone, even picky eaters or those with food allergies. Serving both lunch and dinner, we found that the Bronto Burger was well-sized and was one of the better burgers we’ve had at a Disney dining location. We also ordered the Meteor Meatloaf and the Caesar-saurus Salad with Chicken and everyone in our family was super happy with their selections.

To make a reservation, you can book online or by calling (407) 828-8739. Advance reservations are highly recommended — remember you can book all of your Disney dining 60 days before the start of your trip!
