Bulletproofing Genie+ for the perfect day at Magic Kingdom

Tron is a must-ride

Allow me to break down our bulletproof Genie+ strategy for a perfect day at Magic Kingdom

First, I’d try to book Magic Kingdom on a Tuesday. Crowds on Mondays are tough, as well as Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thursday can be dodgy and Wednesday isn’t usually too bad, but Tuesday is our tried and true.

At 7am (not a minute later) grab a virtual queue for Tron, then purchase an individual lightning lane for Tron (pick a time later in the day) and grab Jungle Cruise sometime before 10am.

Get to the parks early. If you’re staying at a Disney resort, plan to get to Magic Kingdom about 45 minutes before the park opens. Once you’re in the parks, head over to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Once you’ve scanned in for your first ride, you’ll want to immediately book the next ride that has the closest time – and keep doing this throughout the day. Stack as many rides as you possibly can and try to stack them back-to-back.

Rides you’ll want to book early in the day:

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

  • Space Mountain

  • Haunted Mansion

  • Peter Pan’s Flight

Rides that can wait for later:

  • Pirates of the Caribbean

  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant

  • It’s a Small World

Rides that you can do standby:

  • The Barnstormer

  • Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid

  • Mad Tea Party

  • Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Character Meets:

  • Meet Ariel at her Grotto

  • Meet Mickey and Minnie at Town Square Theater

  • Meet Tiana and a Visiting Princess in Fantasyland

We usually stay at Magic Kingdom until they kick us out (unless we’re traveling with our toddler), but we have so many tips to make traveling with babies seamless and stress-free, too. Reach out and we’ll help you plan an amazing day at Magic Kingdom, customized just for you!
